Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know before booking your Rome tour.

Booking & Payment

How do I book a tour?

Select a tour, pick your preferred date and time, choose your group size, and complete payment via our secure Stripe checkout. You'll receive an instant confirmation email with all the details.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, Amex) through Stripe. Payment is processed securely — we never store your card details.

Will I receive a confirmation?

Yes. Immediately after booking you'll get an email with your reference number, tour date, meeting point address, and a Google Maps link.

Can I book for a large group?

Our standard tours are capped at 15 people. For groups larger than 10 or private tours, email us at hello@miraventotours.com and we'll create a custom experience.

Cancellations & Changes

What is your cancellation policy?

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the tour start time. Cancellations within 24 hours and no-shows are non-refundable. If we cancel (e.g. due to weather), you get a full refund or can reschedule.

Can I change my tour date?

Yes — you can reschedule free of charge up to 24 hours before the original tour time, subject to availability. Email us at hello@miraventotours.com.

What happens if it rains?

Our tours run rain or shine. The Colosseum underground and Vatican Museums are largely indoors, so weather rarely affects the experience. We'll cancel only in extreme conditions and offer a full refund.

Tour Experience

What does 'skip-the-line' mean?

We have pre-reserved entry slots at the Vatican Museums and Colosseum. You bypass the general admission queue entirely — which can be 2-3 hours in peak season — and walk straight to the entrance.

How long are the tours?

Our Vatican & Colosseum combo tours run 7-8 hours with a free lunch break in between. The morning covers the Vatican (Museums, Sistine Chapel, St. Peter's) and the afternoon covers the Colosseum and Roman Forum.

What's included in the tour price?

Skip-the-line entry tickets, a licensed English-speaking guide, and small-group experience (max 15). Lunch, personal expenses, and hotel transfers are not included.

Are the tours in English?

Yes, all scheduled tours are conducted in English by fluent, licensed guides. Contact us for tours in Italian or other languages.

Is the Colosseum underground really underground?

Yes. The underground (hypogeum) is the network of tunnels and chambers beneath the arena floor where gladiators and animals waited before combat. It's one of the most restricted areas and requires special access, which we include.

What's the difference between the Arena Floor and Underground tours?

The Arena Floor tour (€149) takes you onto the reconstructed arena floor for a gladiator's-eye view. The Full Underground tour (€189) includes both the arena floor and the underground hypogeum tunnels — the most exclusive access available.

Practical Info

Where do we meet?

The exact meeting point is in your confirmation email. For Vatican tours it's near Viale Vaticano; for Colosseum tours it's near the Arch of Constantine. A Google Maps link is included.

What should I wear?

The Vatican enforces a dress code: shoulders and knees must be covered (no tank tops or shorts above the knee). Wear comfortable walking shoes — you'll cover several kilometres.

Is the tour suitable for children?

Absolutely. Our guides are experienced with families and adjust their commentary. Children under 6 are usually free at the venues. Let us know ages when booking and we'll advise on the best tour option.

Is the tour accessible for people with mobility issues?

The Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel are wheelchair-accessible. The Colosseum arena floor and underground have limited accessibility due to stairs and uneven surfaces. Contact us before booking and we'll find the best solution.
